I have always loved to cook. Ever since I can remember I loved looking at cookbooks and trying out new recipes. Some were successful, others not so much. I often get teased by my family because of an attempt at Swedish Meatballs. Something went terribly wrong and I will never live it down. I think it get's brought up at every family gathering. This blog is an attempt for me to share some of my favorite recipes. If I remember I will include a picture. So here goes...

Delicious White Bread
6-7 Cups lukewarm water
2 T Salt
1/2 C oil
1 C sugar
13 - 16 C flour
1 C Instant powdered milk
1 C potato flakes
2 Tb SAF yeast
Mix warm water, sugar and yeast in mixing bowl. When the yeast begins to grow, add salt, oil, powdered milk and potato flakes. Begin mixing. Add flour a cup at a time. When the dough starts leaving the side of the bowl, stop and see if it is slightly sticky. I then oil a large bowl and put the kneaded dough in and then turn it with the oil side up. Put a dishtowel over the bowl and let it double in size. Once it has doubled, make your bread into loaves or rolls. Let it raise again and then bake at 350 until golden brown.
