Monkey Bread

4 C flour
¼ c sugar
1 pkg yeast
1 tsp salt
1 ¼ c milk
1 egg
Margarine
To warm milk, add yeast, sugar, salt, and 1 cup of flour.  After it develops a sponge add egg and remaining flour.  Mix well.  Turn out onto floured board.  Knead into a ball and roll out like a pizza.  Cut into strips and then into smaller pieces.  Dip into melted butter and layer in ungreased bundt pan.  Let raise until double and then bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  When top is golden brown remove from the oven and turn it over on a plate.  This is fast and easy – it’s delicious with chili or soup.
Variation:
Dip bread in cinnamon sugar for a dessert variety.  May also add pecans.
